Knowledge, Education & Cooperation

We believe in learning by doing — and sharing what we know. GEARS members mentor newcomers, teach license classes, and help fellow operators explore new modes, antennas, and projects. Our meetings and events are open, friendly, and filled with opportunities to grow.

Public Service & Community Support

When disaster strikes or cell networks fail, amateur radio stands ready. GEARS operators proudly support emergency communications throughout Butte County. We also volunteer for local events — providing radio coverage for bike rides, charity walks, and community fundraisers that keep our region connected and safe.
