This is GEARS’ primary repeater — active for nets, emergency operations, and daily QSOs. Reliable coverage across much of eastern Butte County.

Frequency: 440.650 MHz Offset: + (plus). PL Tone: 110.9 Hz Connected to: The WinSystem

This UHF repeater provides extended reach beyond the local area through its connection to the Worldwide Interoperability Network (WinSystem) — giving GEARS operators access to a global network of repeaters and operators. Whether you’re chatting with a friend in Chico or making contact across the world, GEARS repeaters keep you connected.

GEARS VHF West Repeater (Stonyford)

Frequency: 146.895 MHz Offset: – (minus). PL Tone: 123.0 Hz

Coverage: Western Butte and Glenn Counties, extending toward the Mendocino National Forest Ideal for mobile operators and those on the western side of the valley. A strong link for regional communication.

Our repeaters are open-access — but courtesy counts.

• Always identify with your call sign as required by the FCC • Keep transmissions concise and allow breaks for others to join • Avoid tuning tones, long kerchunks, or music • Be welcoming to visiting operators and new licensees
